Have you read R.L.Stine books? A successful young adult writer with specialization in horror story, I haven’t known him until I watched his Masterclass.

Interesting story from his class is his experiences in writing which lead to his career success. His destiny with horror genre was accidental. His friend whom an editor just got a fight with a writer. He then asked R.L. Stine to helped him filled the gap by writing horror novel for young adult. R.L got no previous experience in that, but decided to try anyway. The rest are history.

He attributed his luck to his attitude of YES man when it comes to writing. His previous careers ranging from writing for a celebrity magazines up to writing comics. He never choose what he write, he just accepted any job at the beginning of his career. While not all the jobs are satisfactory, the experiences has helped him ready in capturing the opportunities in horror genre. His first take on that — the “Blind Date” — has become a best seller list.

Writer today’s has been blessed with ample of free writing platform as well as free publication. Medium is one of the example where people could write just about any topic and being met with diverse audiences. R.L. Stine didn’t have that luxury back then. So what are you waiting for? Keep going. Don’t wait for your luck for it could happened only when you keep writing.
