My Markdown Affair

Who doesn’t know about Markdown? Anyone in productivity arena whom mesmerized by new breed of tools like Roam must know and love Markdown.

For one, it is pleasurable to use it. All these readable coding for non-geek really give the vibe of doing real productivity works when you’re on it. *Ahhh that * and _.

What about format compatibility? Most apps adhere to it. Sure there are few forks here and there that might complicate a bit. But pretty much everyone speaking the same language (or at least have option to export/import markdown). That also means there is no worries about being locked down into one proprietary format.

Any Roamers here? Obsidian-ers? These ‘[[ ]]’ almost arouses something in you isn’t it? And shall we not forget about the venerable ‘#’ that still has its punches for many Markdown apps that has yet to support page linking.

But here’s what’s weird. I found myself rarely type the markdown syntax. I either use toolbar on the touchscreen to bold something or using keyboard shortcut to italicized. I found it faster that way than manually typing. But perhaps that has also got to do with my workflow in which the formatting comes later on.

So yeah, I love Markdown and this is my ‘affair’. How about you?
