I still haven’t throw away my iPad. Not anytime soon. But alas I am so glad with my new Macbook after so long typing and reading on such ‘small’ screen. 11 inch is no slouch for a device that could be carried everyday, but to use it as your main desktop? That’s hard. The screen is barely enjoyable to do long hours of browsing and reading documents.

What do I like from Macbook?

Big screen. Yes, 13 inch is A LOT of estate coming from 11 inch. It just strike the right size to allows full productivity without becoming too humongous. And further more the screen is pretty. But somehow you can felt that it is not as bright as iPad in it’s maximum brightness. You can feel the difference in broad light.

Comfortable keyboard. I was using Magic Keyboard for iPad 11 inch. It was fantastic compared to Smart Folio Keyboard. But then the keyboard layout such as the size of return key left much to be desired. The trackpad too is useable but too small to be enjoyable. Now with Macbook’s full size everything, it finally hit the right fit.

What do I missed from iPad?

Well, not much. Since it will still be the primary driver everyday go to. Laptop use would make sense for work situation that portable, but not light and small enough for everyday carry. And with my sporadic way of working, I can’t decided in advance when to work. So iPad still take the main seat.

But at home, I only deal with Macbook now.
