Experience Not Time
Spent not collect.
Time. Is a thing we collected. Is a thing we experienced. It is one but none of the same thing. Being experiencing good feeling, we tried to / expecting the same experience repeated again the future. Since time is of the essence we tried to collect as many as possible, put it as the incontestable prize. But is it really that when we have more time equals to having more experience we have craved about? No. Boring is the phenomenon that shows how having more time is actually brought negative experiences rather than positive. So it’s clear that is not time but experiences that we’re looking for. And experience is out of time. The way we look at things is not the same thing as when we experiences the thing. One imagine how great it would be if he could eat this delicious food forever. But should he eat it everyday, the experiences will likely to contradict his expectation even though the event matched his expectation. And to have more experiences simply doing what you want to do NOW. If boredom is what you felt a the moment, do some activity. Fill the time. And your feeling will follow your action. If tiredness is what you felt at the moment, rest. And if you felt confused as you felt restless and tired at the same time, just surrender to the feeling. Until it is clear out itself. The point is we want experience and thus be intentional with doing whatever it is now. It might not meet your expectation but should that be the case, you can just do something else. And so on and so on. Until you reached your equilibrium and felt tranquil. Worry not about time, focus on the experience.
But an experience also can become an object. That is when an experienced is remembered as an activity. And you want that activity to repeat for eternity. Here the experience is objectified. Thus it is important to just keep going instead of reflecting (too much) and chasing object which when successfully acquired doesn’t give the expected experience.
So what’s the primary difference between object and experience? Object is collect. Experience is spent. You save time vs using it. And since we couldn’t actually save time, then there is only one choice that is using it. Using it. Using it. Using it.
This probably the reason:
- Life is about giving (spending) not getting (collecting).
- There is no failure greater that success. (Collecting everything, spending nothing).
